where Canyon Lake
the kayak     This will be the Arizona Trailblazers second kayaking trip to Canyon Lake this year. We last kayaked the lake in February. We will meet at the Acacia Picnic Site and launch our kayaks off the beach. From there we’ll start paddling north on the lake to Russ Cove, Bass Creek, and the Point Campground, keeping close to the shoreline.
We’ll plan on pulling in to shore for a lunch break around 11:00 or so at the Point Campground, located about 2.5 miles from the Acacia launch area. This is a nice site on a bluff overlooking the lake, with picnic tables and restrooms. From there, we’ll paddle back to the launch area.
Please be advised that we may have to postpone this trip due to unfavorable weather conditions, especially high winds on the lake.
