If time permits, we will check out the following trails:
•  Seven Sisters—colorful set of rock spires near the Visitor Center.
•  Arch Rock—short quarter-mile round trip hike, beginning on the west side of the Visitor Center and ending just below Balancing Rock.
•  Balancing Rock - 0.1 miles
•  Atlatl Rock Petroglyphs—not an actual hike, but a long set of winding metal stairs along the Atlatl Rock face that allows visitors to reach the many petroglyphs
Our group campsite is Group Site 3, check-in time is 3:00 pm. Set up tent and fix your individual dinners. Campfire starts after 5:30 pm.
Day 2: Monday, February 20 Sunrise: 6:23 am (NV), Sunset: 5:27 pm We will leave campground at 8:30 am. Today’s hikes:
•   Fire Wave, White Domes and Seven Wonders Loop—3.2-mile loop hike, descending stone steps into a wide basin and then through a short, but narrow, slot canyon, opening to expansive views. It also offers stunning landscape vistas, similar to Arizona’s Wave. Trailhead is located 4.7 miles from the Visitor Center on Mouse’s Tank Road and accessed from Parking Lot 3.
•   Pinnacles Loop Hike—4.5-mile loop hike, with 430’ of elevation gain. Trailhead is located across the street from the Atlatl Rock parking lot. Not an established trail, with trail markers (yellow-tipped metal posts) located roughly every 1,000 feet. Can be hard to follow in places, so hike with caution through this area.
•   Pink Canyon—unmarked canyon with beautiful pink walls. Get specific directions from someone at the Visitor Center.
Day 3: Tuesday February 21: Sunrise: 6:22 am Sunset: 5:28 pm. We will leave campground at 8:30 am. Today’s hikes (combine 1,2,3 and 5 or 1,2,3, and 4):
•   1. Rainbow Vista & Fire Canyon Overlook Hike—1.1-mile round trip hike, with rainbow-colored hills, through a canyon ending at the Overlook, a steep drop-off looking into flaming red and bowl-shaped Fire Canyon.
•   2. Mouse’s Tank Trail—0.75-mile round trip hike through Petroglyph Canyon, featuring hundreds of petroglyphs along the walls, and ending at Mouse’s Tank.
•   3. Elephant Rock Loop—located near the East Entrance, this is a short walk around one of the most iconic rock formations in VoF. This hike can also be expanded to a 2mile loop hike around Elephant Rock.
•   4. Natural Arches Hike—5.0-mile round trip hike, with 300ft of elevation gain. Another unmaintained trail through a soft and sandy dry riverbed and through several narrow canyons to reach two small natural arches at trails end. Do not expect arches of the caliber of those found in Arches National Park.
•   5. Charlies Spring Trail—located near Overton, this moderate 6.7-mile loop trail features a natural spring seeping from the ground and flowing year- round. Begins in a sandy wash for the first half of the loop and can be difficult to follow. The lush riparian area surrounding Charlies Spring is the highlight of this hike.
