Arizona Trailblazers Hiking Club
Valley of Fire car camp
Nevada
Feb. 13-16, 2020
We have a group campground reservation at Valley of Fire on February 13-16, 2020, (Camp site #1). Valley of Fire is Nevada’s first state park, founded in 1935 to preserve vibrant red sandstone landscapes and other colorful formations in southeastern Nevada. The park covers approximately 42,000 acres in the desert northeast of Las Vegas near Lake Mead.
We will be camping between fiery rock formations and exploring exciting hiking trails (to be picked / organized later). They will include the following trails: Fire Wave, White Domes Loop, Pink Canyon, and Mouse’s Tank. The group campsite is a full facility site with a large covered ramada and several concrete tables, fire ring, upright grill, good drinking water, and running water with flush toilets and showers in the restrooms.
The group site can accommodate 12 to possibly 15 tents. There are also limited number of vehicle spots (we’ll need to strategically organize the carpooling) for our group camp, so that limits the number of participants, and will be first responders will get a spot with a timestamp running waiting list (organized by when the response interest was received).
$75 secured our group campsite. There is a $10 per vehicle entrance fee. There is also an additional charge of $20 per vehicle per night, to be paid at the park.
