This is an easy hike to get the blood flowing and muscle working after driving
or flying to Flagstaff. We will start in the middle of this passage and head
south for 3 miles and then turn around. This will give everyone a chance to
meet and greet before the Mt. Humphrys hike the next day. After we get south
of I-40 we will be in the pine forest of Arizona’s high country.
If thunderstorms roll in we can retreat back to the area under the freeway
until they pass.
After the hike we can have dinner at “The Northern Pines” or “Porky’s Bar & Pub”. They are across Butler from each other. I prefer “The Northern Pines”.
• Sturdy hiking boots
• At least 2 liters of water
• Rain poncho, warm shirt or light jacket
