the hike |
Drop a vehicle off at the Canyon Vista Campground and continue on to the
USGS Trailhead (all roads paved). The hike will travel west past Marshall
Lake, along Anderson Mesa, down Walnut Canyon to the Sandy’s
Canyon Trail, and to the caves at Fisher Point. Then we’ll walk back
to Sandy’s Canyon Trailhead at the Canyon View Campground.
Bring rain/hail equipment. It was quite a storm a few days ago up there.
Passage 31 of the Arizona Trail is described on pages 239-243 of
Arizona Trail: The Official Guide
by Tom Jones and Jerry Sieve, Westcliffe Publishers, 2005.
