|where||East of I-17, North of Stoneman Lake Rd.|
This exploratory historic-route hike is an alternative to the scenic Sedona
hike scheduled on the same day.
Start at the south end at the signed “Rattlesnake Quiet Area” 4.5 miles east of I-17 on Stoneman Lake Road. The route will be about 8-9 miles total as we hike toward the north and yo-yo back. The route is also known as FR80.
We’ll stop for a snack/lunch and break along the way.

|meet||8:00 AM in the Fry’s parking lot on the SW corner of I-17 & Bell Road. Park behind Denny’s, near the entrance to the Deer Valley Park & Ride. We’ll leave promptly at 8:15 AM. With one stop along the way at the McDonalds at Verde Valley, total drive time from I-17 & Bell Road to the Trailhead is about 1.5 hours.|
