the hike Starting at Deer Creek Trailhead, we’ll hike a 12-mile loop to the ridgeline of the Mazatzals, going up on the Gold Ridge Trail and then down on the South Fork Trail. See Map.

meet 6:15 AM in the Leisure World Realty parking lot in east Mesa at 900 S. Power Road, or 7:30 AM at Deer Creek Trailhead.
drive Deer Creek Trailhead is at the junction of Arizona SR 87 and SR 188. From Fountain Hills, take AZ 87 north to mile marker 235.5. The trailhead is well-marked on a dirt road just off the highway.
