where? Prescott. For a map, see Trail Tracks, spring 2008, page 2.
the hike     This enjoyable trail follows a winding course from a trailhead near the Senator Highway, passes the Upper and Lower Goldwater lakes, and after 4.6 miles reaches the White Spar Campground. The trail is wooded and offers views of the Sierra Prietas Mountains and of Bannon Creek and pond.
Total elevation is small and hardly noticeable because of the gradual contours of the path.
Following a rest break, we’ll return by the same route.
