Another adventure.
Drive County Road 58 east from Poland Junction to Five Corners in the
Prescott National Forest. We start here. Hike to the lookout tower at
Mt. Union before retuning to trail #284. Take #284 south to Moscow Peak
and Yankee Doodle peak. Some off trail bushwhacking is required in the
three peaks. After Yankee Doodle we head east, off trail, to find FR83.
Hike FR83 north past the remains of Dandrea Ranch.
Hike Arizona web site describes the hike as 10 miles 2100 feet w/o the climb to Mt. Union lookout. Our hike will shorten that but include some off trail. See map. Come prepared. |
