|when||Trip Report : April 3, 2021|
Arizona Trail has been one of the most popular trails for thru-hikers in recent years.
Passage 17 is located near Picketpost Mountain in Superior, Arizona. This trail offers
beautiful wildflowers during the spring season.
We will start at Picketpost Trailhead, cross the dry creek bed, and gradually walk up to a small hill. From here we will start climbing gradually along the Alamo canyon, where we will be able to see Picketpost mountain on the left side of the trail. From this point on the views become beautiful.
We may pass a few thru-hikers along the way. If we are lucky we may see some wildflowers, Gila monsters and desert turtles along the trail. We will hike 2.8 miles before veering to the right to continue our journey until we can no longer see Picketpost Mountain.
At the 6-mile mark we will take a lunch break on a hill, and from there we will hike down to north Telegraph road. This is our turning point.
