Mt. Wrightson 4th of July Trip

where Santa Rita Mountains/Madera Canyon
the hike     We will spend a few days south of Tucson exploring the Madera Canyon area. You can come for just one hike or stay one or two nights to enjoy the area.
The plan is to leave for Tucson on the afternoon of July 3rd and head for Sahuarita, where we have a large house rented. People who want to make their own accommodation arrangements can stay in hotels or Airbnb in Green Valley or Tucson. There are even spots at the Santa Rita Lodge, which is actually in Madera Canyon, for July 3rd (but not the 4th). Another option, if available, is the Madera Kubo Lodge.
On Independence Day, we will meet any Phoenix drivers in Green Valley at 7:30 AM (place to be announced) and head to the trailhead. By combining and making a loop of the Old Baldy and Super trails, we will hike to the summit.
On July 5th we will return to the canyon and hike the Bog and Kent Springs Trails, and then return to the Valley.
