Dome Mountain Day Hike

where Goldfield Mountains
the hike     We will hike north from the trailhead along Jeep roads. After about two miles, leave the Jeep road and follow a trail to the summit of Dome Mountain, highest point in the Goldfields. The 360 degree view from on top is great!
    Then hike off trail down a short distance to the western Camouflage Tanks. After lunch we will hike off trail around the north and east sides of the mountain and return to the trail.

meet 6:30 AM at Red Mountain Park located at 7745 E. Brown Rd. in Mesa (south side of Brown Road east of Power Road).
Directions from the Red Mountain Freeway (Loop 202):
•  Exit 26 (Brown Road).
Go west on Brown a half mile to the light at Sterling Dr.
Turn left (south) at Sterling into the park. Then take the first left into the Palo Brea parking lot.
•  Go east on Brown Road to Meridian Road.
Turn left and go north on Meridian Road.
Turn right and go east on McKellips Rd.
Turn left and go north on Wolverine Pass Rd.
Turn right and go east on Tonto Street.
Turn left and go north on Cactus Rd.
Turn right and go east then northeast on McDowell Blvd.
Park at the trailhead (road blocked).
