Arizona Trailblazers Hiking Club
Adero Canyon to Ringtail Day Hike
when January 12, 2019
where Fountain Hills Preserve
the hike     Fountain Hills just opened a brand-new trailhead (porta potty but no water) at the end of Eagle Ridge Drive called Adero Canyon. From the trailhead we take the Promenade Trail for about a mile to the Western Loop turn off. Going up the Western Loop gives us an elevation gain of 550' in 0.6 miles. The view from the West View Overlook is great.
Going down the Western Loop Trail we turn onto the Andrews-Kinsey Trail and after half a mile connect into the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. After a steady climb we reach the Hitching Post and continue to the Sunrise Peak, where another spectacular view awaits us. After taking in the views we go down the Sunrise Trail back to the Ringtail parking area.
