the hike     This hike was last done by the club in November, 2013, so it’s about time for a revisit. This hike will be a double-loop around both Brown’s Mountain and Cone Mountain.
From the Brown’s Ranch Trailhead we’ll hike the Upper Ranch Trail and link up with the Wrangler Trail and then the Brown’s Mountain Trail. At the halfway point on the Brown’s Mountain Trail we’ll take a short 0.2-mile spur trail to the peak (3,253 feet.).
We’ll then complete the Brown’s Mountain. Trail, before linking up with the top half of the Upper Ranch Trail. Next, we’ll link up with the Cone Mountain Trail, the Hackamore Trail and the Rustler Trail to complete the loop around Cone Mountain. The Rustler Trail will then link us back up with the Upper Ranch Trail for the return hike back to the trailhead.
Somewhere near the halfway point of the hike we’ll stop for a lunch break.
