(Exploratory) We will be taking the Slate Trail from downtown Cave Creek to Cave
Creek Regional Park. This is open desert, not too much up or down. We will connect
with the Go John Trail when we get near our turnaround point at the regional park.
This a nice hike on the Saturday before Thanksgiving to burn some fat.
We will have our snack at the park before we return the way we came.
If Cave Creek is running, our feet may get a little wet crossing, but we will see how it is doing closer to the hike day. This is the open desert, going though some of the land Cave Creek has protected from development.
After the hike some of us will be going to the Cave Creek Olive Oil. This is a great place to pick up a gift for the holiday season and sample their items. They are one of the top location to get gourmet oive oil and balsamic vinegar in Arizona. They also have some homemade specialty items. After our stop here we may get lunch at a local restaurant.
