|where||Phoenix Sonoran Preserve|
This Preserve has a well developed system of trails in two areas.
We’ll be hiking the southern area, off Jomax road, doing the Dixie
Mountain Loop, then taking the Valley Verde Trail to the Cactus Wren loop,
and hiking back via Desert Tortoise Trail to Hawks Nest.
Then take the Valley Verde Trail to the Cactus Wren loop, and hike back via
Desert Tortoise Trail to Hawks Nest.
This trail system is well marked, parts of it do overlook housing, but a
good portion of the trails overlooks the Preserve, and if we are lucky, some
hot air balloons.
See Park Trail Maps.
