The length of the Hawknest Trail is about 12 miles.
We will hike 4.5 miles on the Hawknest Trail starting at Pima Dynamite Trailhead, then hike Cone Mountain Trail and the Latigo Trail back to the trailhead.
We’ll see the Hawk’s Nest, a crested saguaro. If we’re lucky we will see year-around residents such as Harris’ hawk, cactus wren. The scenery along the trail and at Basalt Ridge Overlook is picturesque.
