|where||Lake Pleasant Regional Park|
I have not hiked this trail since the floating bridge floated away, but the bridge has been
repaired, and we can always walk through the wash. So let’s give it a go.
We’ll start from the Pipeline Canyon Day Use Area and Trailhead. About 1.4 miles along the trail, take a spur to the Yavapai Point trail and climb 0.9 miles to a gorgeous vantage point. From up here we’ll have a truly beautiful view of Lake Pleasant and surrounding mountains.
It is a bit of a climb, but worth the effort. Then come back down and continue on the Yavapai Point trail to the Cottonwood Day Use and Trailhead. At this point we can decide if we want to extend the hike to 8.1 miles by taking the Cottonwood Trail (this will add 2.4 miles), or just have a snack and return.
• Sturdy hiking boots
• At least 3 liters of water
• Rain poncho
• Hat, sunblock, sunglasses
• Lunch or snacks
