where Cave Creek Regional Park
the hike     This route begins with a scenic 7.9-mile clockwise loop including the Overton trail, the “back” side of the Go John Trail, the new Quartz trail, and finally the Slate trail leading back to the trailhead.
    Those wishing more distance will then continue by trekking the entire Go John trail counterclockwise.
    What a great way to burn off those Thanksgiving calories!

•  Sturdy hiking boots
•  At least 3 liters of water
•  Rain poncho
•  Hat, sunblock, sunglasses

drive Take Carefree Highway 6.8 miles east to 32nd Street.
Turn left (north) on 32nd Street 1 mile to Cave Cereek Regional Park.
