We’ll start north from the Carney Springs parking lot following the old
Jeep road, crossing the Lost Goldmine Trail and the wilderness boundary. Then
climb the steep West Boulder Trail up to the saddle, where we’ll have a
magnificent overview of West Boulder Canyon and the Superstition Ridgeline.
We’ll explore around the saddle, then return by the same route.
This hike is described on pages 170-172 of Superstition Wilderness Trails West by Jack Carlson and Elizabeth Stewart.
