What an awesome way to celebrate the last day of 2022 with a walk at Tempe Town Lake. Twenty-three of us met at 8:00 am at Tempe Marketplace; the weather was perfect. I was happy to see some friends whom I had not seen for a long time.

After a quick introduction, everyone was ready to walk and enjoy this beautiful day at Tempe Town Lake. It is always a pleasure to walk around the lake: With the reflection of the buildings and bridges on the lake as a backdrop; the people walking with dogs, running, skateboarding, kayaking, and boat racing adding energy; and the sunshine adding brightness and warmth to the scene.

We started our walk on the south side of the lake and headed towards the west. When we arrived at the pedestrian bridge, Heather, Bill, Kathy, Linda, Nancy, and Deirdre decided to return to the parking lots and go to the Daily Jam for breakfast. While the rest of us crossed the bridge to the north side of the lake and continued our walk, Chuck, Allen, and Bob were still walking on the south side of the lake.

Halfway between the Mill Ave bridge and the Rural bridge on the north side of the lake, Rodney, Jackie, Gene decided to go back the route they came to make 7.5 miles walk; Tamar, Jim, Li, Tom, Lin, Karen, Steve, Bud, Robert decided they would continue on north side of lake toward to east, then crossed the Rural bridge to make loop, which it will be 6.8 miles. After arriving back to the parking lot, Tom opened a bottle of sparkling wine and we toasted our wonderful walk with CHEER in the air.

A few of us decided that we would go to Phoenix Palace for Dim Sum. Man, that was a great decision. We had tea, and many many yummy dishes. I think Everyone had great time. Thanks for everyone for coming on the last day of 2022 to walk with me. It was a great day. Thank you.
