Please note that the club can loan club members backpack gear if needed,
First day: Start on the Lost Dutchman Trail. Then we take the Second Water trail over to Boulder Trail. We find a place to camp and set up camp. Approximately 4.4 miles/ 600 EG to first night’s camp. This is about 1 week afer the full moon, so the sky will be dark.


Second Day: We do a day hike to Canyon Lake. We then return to camp. Approximately 5.6 miles round trip/ 1500EG


Third Day (Columbus Day): After breakfast we pack up camp and return to the cars.

Required:
 •  Sturdy hiking boots
 •  At least 3 liters of water
 •  Rain poncho
 •  Hat, sunblock, sunglasses
 •  backpack stuff

 •  Lunch or snacks
 •  Camera

Meet: ?:?? AM east Mesa at the Home Depot on the southeast corner of Power Road and US 60. No cars can be left here.
Directions from Phoenix: Go east on the Superstition Freeway (US 60) to Superstition Springs Blvd., exit 187. Take that exit, turn right and go 1/2 mile east,  across Power Road. Then turn left, toward Home Depot. Park in the southwest corner of the Home Depot lot, behind Burger King.
Drive: From Phoenix, go east on US 60 to the turnoff for Idaho Road. Take right turn onto AZ-88, signed for the Canyon lakes. Just pasted the Lost Dutchman State Park, turn right onto First Water rd, Go to end and park in the lot.  Leave the vehicles at the First Water Trailhead and start from there.
