the hike |
For those who may speculate how tequila relates to the sober enjoyment of a hike in the pines
of Mingus Mountain, let me elaborate. One section of this hike will be on not the Mezcal, but
the Mescal Trail, near the summit of Mingus Mountain between Prescott Valley and Jerome.
During our trek, we will start well below the Mingus Mountain summit, but navigate our way on
several USFS trails with initial views of the Verde Valley, Sedona, and the San Francisco Peaks
(weather and smoke permitting).
Upon our return as we loop back to the trailhead, there will be plenty of shade with possible
(and recently scouted) sightings of wildlife from mule deer to wild turkeys. See
2020 report.
