|when||Trip Report : September 2, 2021|
Neil Dennis will lead this hike.
We will enjoy a 4 mile rolling hike beginning on the Hawks Nest Trail which leads to nest in a Saguaro Cactus that now is home to a family of owls. We plan to look at the nest to determine whether it is occupied at this time of year.
At this point, we will reverse direction and go back down to a trail junction with the Desert Tortoise Trail which we follow to Valle Verde Trail. We’ll explore the area and marvel at the green lush landscape before returning the way we came.
Trails are smoother and less rocky than average Arizona trails. Bring plenty of water.
