when January 30, 2024 Tuesday
  Trip Report : February 10, 2018
where Superstition Mountains
the hike     This difficult lollipop hike will start east Lost Goldmine TH off Peralta Rd. We will hike out on the Lost Goldmine to the Wave Cave area. We will pass the Wave Cave and climb our way up a rocky ravine to the Superstition ridgeline. From there we’ll follow the ridgeline trail west until we can turn off on a trail to 3 Sisters peaks. The views will be worth the strenuous hike After a lunch break enjoying the views we’ll return to the ridgeline trail and take that east to the top of Carney Spring. Descending Carney Spring trail is steep, tiring, and slippery in spots. We will have plenty of scrambling, boulder hopping, climbing, and some bushwhacking. This is not an easy hike. Carney Spring trail is not used much, so the trail maybe hard to follow down.
Start from Lost Goldmine Trailhead, then Carney Spring trail take the trail west up toward Boulder Saddle, then take an unmarked trail to the left which goes to the Wave Cave.
