Crystal Point, Frog Tank Day Hike

where	Munds Park
the hike	Munds Park has some really beautiful trails. We’ll be hiking in a forest of large pine trees and see some wild orchids, if we’re lucky. The hike will leave from Dave’s house and will proceed to Odell Lake and hike up to Crystal Point, then onward to the 240 Trailhead on FR240.     From here we’ll take the 240 Trail to Iron Springs Trailhead and hike on to the Frog Tank Loop. Once we are at the Frog Tank Loop we can opt for the longer hike version by going around the Frog Tank Loop, or opt for the shorter version and just take a left at the junction on out to Janice’s Place.     There is not much elevation gain in this hike, maybe 500 '. This hidden gem is a very scenic trail with a bonus of being close to Phoenix. See Map.

meet in Phoenix	6:00 AM in the Fry’s parking lot on the SW corner of I-17 & Bell Road. Park behind Denny’s, near the entrance to the Deer Valley Park & Ride.
drive	•  North on I-17 to Munds Park. • Take exit #322 eastbound. • Turn right onto W. Pinewood Blvd. • Turn right onto Half Moon Road. • Take the second left onto Blue Heron Pl. • Left on Golden Pond. Dave’s house is on the left.
