where Lee Ferry
the Kayaks, Paddleboards and Canoes
* Kayaks, Paddleboards and Canoes welcome. * Paddle the iconic Horseshoe Bend on Colorado River from below Glen Canyon Dam back to Lee Ferry. A backhaul boat picks us up at Lee Ferry dock, loads our paddlecraft, gear and ferries us upriver approximately 30 minutes to drop us off at a beach below the dam (dam 16 miles, Petroglyph Beach 12 miles), at which point the boat leaves. We paddle back to Lee Ferry on our own. Certain mile markers have beaches with vault toilets for breaks and lunch spots. This is in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area so National Park, Senior Passes, etc are good. Camping at Lee’s Ferry Campground, no reservations FCFS only so must arrive early to secure camping sites this is busy season. Amenities: flush toilets, shade structures, tables, fire rings on mesa with great views. Share campsites.
