Arizona Trailblazers Hiking Club
Aspen Corner to Shultz Tank Day Hike
when Trip Report : September 17, 2016
where Flagstaff
the hike     This hike will bag another long section of the Arizona Trail, passage 34a. It will be a one way hike starting at Aspen Corner near Snow Bowl at elevation 9000' and head south towards Mexico (although it is technically west) through a beautiful aspen and conifer forest. We drop down to 7500 feet as we cross Snow Bowl Road about a mile and half up from its intersection with US 180. The trail curves and starts heading south and then east to our end point at elevation 8000'.
We will convene in the Target Parking lot in Flagstaff about 8:15. There we’ll decide which cars need to be driven to Shultz Tank. The other cars can go straight to Aspen Corner. Leave enough cars at Shultz Tank to get all the drivers back to Aspen Corner after the hike.
