the hike     If you would like to get out of hot Phoenix, come join me on the Mogollon Rim. Wild, expansive vistas await us on this leisurely walk along the Mogollon Rim and if you want down to Two Sixty Trailhead. Start on the Rim Lakes Vista Trail, hike over to the Military Sinkhole trail. We then take the Military Sinkhole trail over to the General Crook trail. The Military Sinkhole trail goes though a very lush area with ferns and other very green plants. We then take the General Crook trail over to Woods Canyon and rejoin the Rim Lakes Vista Trail. We take it back to the Military Sinkhole. Some may bail out at the Military Sinkhole to make their way down to the junction where the Highline Trail begins. The rest of us will return to the Rim Lakes Vista Trail parking lot. Some of us will stop at the Two Sixty Trailhead and pick up our hikers. Depending on cars, we may return to the Rim Lakes Vista Trail parking lot to get the rest of the cars. Come prepared for sunshine, clouds, pleasant breezes, and inspiring scenery of the Zane Grey country. We may stop for a late lunch in Payson afterwards.
