Dixie Mine Day Hike
when Friday, November 11, 2022
where Fountain Hills
the hike     Every time I have hiked from Golden Eagle I have seen the mine. This hike we will just add the tangent off to the mine. Ought to add maybe 30 minutes to the hike. We will still go to waiting cars at the Adero TH; we will NOT return to Golden Eagle. But we will knock out two hikes in the FH Challenge in one day by combining them.
I’m not a math person but I figure it will be more than 5 but less than 6.
One-way 5-mile hike as there will be cars at the Adero Canyon Trailhead. From the Golden Eagle Trailhead at the end of Golden Eagle Blvd., follow the marked sidewalk and signs to the entrance to McDowell Mountain Regional Park ($2.00 fee required). Follow the Dixie Mine Trail to the Sonoran Trail. When you enter the McDowell Mountain Preserve, you can follow either the Sonoran Trail or Lower Sonoran Trail to the Promenade Trail. Follow the Promenade Trail to the Adero Canyon Trailhead, where cars will be waiting.
