the hike     This enjoyable trail follows a winding course from a trailhead near the Senator Highway, passes the Upper and Lower Goldwater lakes, and after 4.6 miles reaches the White Spar Campground. The trail is wooded and offers views of the Sierra Prietas Mountains and of Bannon Creek and pond.

meet 7:00 AM in the Fry’s parking lot on the SW corner of I-17 & Bell Road. Park behind Denny’s, near the entrance to the Deer Valley Park & Ride.

drive
1.  Take I-17 north 49 miles to Hwy 69.
2. Take Hwy 69 34 miles west into Prescott. Once in town, Hwy 69 becomes Gurley Street.
3. After about half a mile on Gurley St., turn left on S. Mt. Vernon Ave, which becomes Senator Highway.
4. Travel south on Senator Highway 4.1 miles to the trailhead on the right.
If you pass E. Schoolhouse Gulch Rd, you’ve gone too far.
Parking is limited, but additional space is available directly across Senator Highway at the trailhead serving Watershed Trail #299.
