Triple Arch Day Hike
when Saturday, March 11, 2023
 Hike is full.
where Goldfield Mountains
the hike     “Hiking in the Goldfields [Mountains] is an extremely satisfying experience. Though not very high as mountains go, they are quite rugged.”* The Goldfield Mountains were formed from the Superstition volcano approximately 18M years ago and are west of the Superstition Mountains. It is easy to overlook them, however, they are very beautiful, and feel very remote. This hike is in the eastern Goldfields, beginning at Willow Springs Canyon Trailhead. We will hike west mostly on trails to find the Triple Arch, above Black Glass Canyon.
Reaching the arches requires a short scramble. We’ll then proceed to another, unnamed arch. From the arches, we’ll do an easy bushwhack off the ridge to the southwest into an adjacent canyon and eventually head back the way we came.
*This hike is described, in-part, in Ted Tenny’s wonderful book Goldfield Mountain Hikes ( Gem Guides, 2006), https://www.mile204.us/Goldfields/Hiking.html
