Morgan City Wash Day Hike
when Sunday, February 26, 2023
where Lake Pleasant Regional Park
the hike     Starting from an unmarked Trailhead in Lake Pleasant Regional Park, we will connect to Morgan City Wash. On the way we hope to see some of the wild burros that inhabit the park. Once in the dry wash we arrive at a remarkable stand of dense vegetation and a trickle of water begins. This part of the hike should be called "Alice in Wonderland Wash" for the drastic change from arid desert to riparian area including wild tobacco. Some pools have formed creating a mini climate for little fish called "dace". We then connect to the Beardsley and Maricopa trails for a lollipop loop hike and return to our starting point. Those who wish can join in a dinner at the Scorpion Bay Marina.
