The Pima-Dynamite Trailhead is in the northern region of the McDowell Sonoran
Preserve. While there is nothing really that steep or tall in this part of the preserve,
there is a section here that has a number of playful rock formations. There are
warning signs along part of our route, but don’t worry, that’s only
because some sections are considered black diamond level for bikers – nothing
difficult for us hikers, just more fun! Trails are mostly made of crushed gravel, and
some sections of boulder slabs.
Just for fun, we can make this sort of like a scavenger hunt – there are at least 10 rock formations that I have documented along our route (and a few more that others have noted), let’s see if you can find them all! Be sure to bring 3 liters of water, hat, sunscreen and snacks. |
