Sunrise-Western Loop Day Hike
when Trip Report : February 4, 2017
where McDowell Sonoran Preserve, Scottsdale
the hike     New hike, new exploring. We will start at Sunrise Trailhead, hike the Sunrise Trail to the Andrews-Kinsey Trail. Pick up the Western Loop Trail about 1.1 miles, hike down Promenade Trail and get back to the trailhead by Andrews-Kinsey and Sunrise Trails.
    This hike provides good exercise through sustained ups-downs, raising our heart rate to help strengthen the heart, strengthen the legs and burn calories. The beautiful views along the way include Four Peaks, Superstitions, Adero Canyon, Fountain Hills, McDowells and Sonoran Desert landscaping, will make the miles go faster. The 360 degree view at West View Overlook will give you the best scenery. Bring your camera.
    Due to steep, rocky, loose gravel trails hiking sticks is a must.
Required:
•  Sturdy hiking boots
•  At least 3 liters of water
•  Hat, sunblock, sunglasses

•  Take Loop 101 to Shea Blvd, Exit 41.
Go east on Shea Blvd 6 miles.
Turn left and go north on 136th street.
Turn right on East Via Linda.
Drive 1.5 miles to the trailhead.
