This difficult hike will start from the upper parking area above Tortilla Flat.
We'll start out on a trail toward Peter's Canyon. We'll come to a junction before the
canyon and take a steep, winding trail up to Fragile Arch. We'll continue up past there and
go over a saddle eventually entering a ravine below Geronimo Head. We'll follow that rocky ravine
a short distance until we turn right and bushwhack up a long slope to a ridge. The views from that
ridge will be stunning as you can look down on Battleship and beyond. We'll follow the ridge going up
and down and sweeping to the high point of Geronimo Head. After a lunch break we'll head back mostly the
same way we came with more bushwhacking until we hit the trail down. There will be a couple snack breaks.
For those interested in staying at Tortilla Flat after the hike,
please arrange to drive or discuss with the driver ahead of time at the meetup. .
