Seven sagacious Trailblazers set out from Idaho Access on a cool, sunny
morning. We walked over to Idaho Canyon and then stayed in the canyon
as it took us north to Idaho Pass.
“From Idaho Pass there’s a lot more downhill than uphill,”
Ted observed.

Metates? Those holes sure are round.

Ted’s hikes include bushwhacking, so we walked from FR 10 over to Bulldog
Canyon, where we found a game trail to get us the rest of the way down.
During the next half mile of canyon-whacking, Ted pointed out the side canyon
where you can climb Peak 3269 from the west.
We didn’t really see Dome Mountain, at 3381' the highest in the Goldfields.

You may not know it, but I’m watching you.

Dark, rugged Peak 3110 looms in the background.

After while we left Bulldog Canyon to walk the rest of the way on Forest
Road 10. Here was a lot more traffic, and campers, than last time.
We started to meet other hikers.

I’ll drink to that!

The hike ended at Blue Point Trailhead just as the day was warming up.
We had been on the trail five hours.
My thanks to all of you for making this hike so delightful!
