Eighteen Trailblazers embarked on Kendrick Mountain trail at approximately 10 AM
with beautiful, cool clear weather.
We were greeted with vibrant wildflowers, the bluest of skies, fluffy cumulus clouds,
and endless switchbacks, where we paused several times to catch our breath and
take in amazing views.

Kendrick is a challenging hike due to elevation gain and is one of the highest peaks
in Arizona. Before reaching the summit, we stopped to admire and take advantage
of photo opportunities at the old Lookout Cabin, built in the early 1900s.

From there, it was a quick hike up to the summit at 10,418 feet where we were
rewarded with amazing views of the Grand Canyon and San Francisco Peaks valley.
Several hikers enjoyed a tour of the fire lookout tower and engaged in conversation
with Ranger Emmanuel.

It felt like an easy hike back down.
We enjoyed some beverages and headed into town to enjoy dinner at Pato Thai food.
Thanks to everyone who joined in to make this a beautiful day of hiking and friendship.
