After receiving an email from one hiker that he got to the wrong trailhead and advised us to proceed without him, I and eleven hikers started the hike.

To see first crested saguaro, we hike a half of mile from trailhead on Powerline Road and Latigo Trail.

Continuing on the Latigo Trail, it’s about a half of mile to the second crested saguaro, the big fancy one. Its shape is like a big fan. After taking pictures, we hiked back on the Latigo Trail and take the Rock Tank Trail, 1.1 miles to Axe Grease Trail. We could see he third crested saguaro after hiking 0.4 mile on the Axe Grease Trail. But we can’t come next to it because it is at state trust land, and behind the fence. That’s fine. We can take pictures by zoom in our camera.

I ask if anyone is interested to see the fourth crested saguaro. Total miles will be around eight. Only seven hikers agree to go, three other hikers want to hike back with Tamar. I show Tamar the map and instruction about trails.

Eight hikers hike the Hawknest Trail 1.2 miles to the fourth crested saguaro.

We all walk back to the trailhead by hiking Powerline Road 2.6 miles. We feel warm with the sunshine.

It’s a nice exercise hike to burn some extra calories from the holiday. Most of all, we enjoy natural beauties from Mother Nature. Thanks to all for coming to join my hike.

Happy Trails!
