On a cloudy, cooler but humid morning, 6 hikers arrived at the East Trailhead for a 4 mile hike that took in several trails. Our elevation gain today was 406' and offered nice views of the surrounding area, and east toward the cloud-shrouded McDowells. |

At the end of the hike we took a short walk up the paved “Water Tower” road to the water retention tank that in no way resembles a tower. We were happy to include Yoni, a visiting hiker here for two weeks who wanted to get out and stretch his legs. Yoni was excited to see his first Arizona Roadrunner. |

At this point, the clouds parted and the temperature went up, so we went down to the cars. 6 hikers, including 4 AZHC members . |
