Wendy, the Tin Man, and Junette

Junette led Wendy on this 2 hour, 5.1 mile hike with +-403 ft elevation change from 1577 ft. We walked counterclockwise around the lake and passed through the Veterans Memorial, then around to the trailhead. Headed up the hill for beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, the lake with the fountain running, and the town. We saw many species of birds and the spring flowers are starting to open.

After our hike, we walked down an appropriately named street: Avenue of the Fountains.

We passed many sculptures, fountains, shops, and cafes. We turned on North La Montana Drive and visited the Fountain Hills Community Center. This area is like an indoor/outdoor museum with the beautiful paintings, photographs, and sculptures everywhere. The River of Time Museum, a community garden, and library are next door.

We continued to East El Lago Blvd. back to our vehicles.
