We took an access trail from north side of the lot and strolled through the Sonoran Desert with spectacular views of the Superstitions from the Northwest.

We followed the contour before descending into a small creek bed. It was cool and the vegetation was lush.

After ~ 1mile, we crossed Hackberry springs creek and traveled north on the Hackberry Springs Trail. After a short distance, we reach Hackberry Springs at the base of a basalt cliff. We paused for a photo op and some exploration although there was little water in the spring.

We continued north along the Hackberry Springs trail.

After about a mile we came to a junction and paused for a photo op and break.

We take the trail left (east) for about ¼ mile with a view of Hackberry Mesa to the north.
