Nine Trailblazers assembled at the First Water parking lot on a fine spring morning grabbing some of the last available parking spots. We started on our way on the Dutchman trail and encountered several small water crossings- a nice result of recent rains. The desert was green, the weather was mild and the trail wasn't busy great conditions for a hike!

We took a break at Parker Pass and again at the junction with the Black Mesa trail and then continued up to the Mesa. Although there was evidence of past fires up there, there were also fields of little purple flowers blanketing the ground. We rested again briefly at the 2nd Water junction and began seeing more other hikers in the area. Heading back, Robert took us off the trail a little bit to see a permanent small pool of water.

We continued on until we reached the parking lot and parted ways. A brisk lovely morning in the Spring desert!
