Bulldog Saddle Hike
Superstitions

Trailblazers on Bulldog Saddle.
Dave, Paul, Robert, Nancy, Greg.

Five of us set off on our little hike on a cool, beautiful day. We soon warmed up and shed layers as we hiked up the rocky slope to Bulldog Saddle. It was nice to get to know a couple new people (to me).

After admiring the view and drinking some water, we headed east up to the peak on a steeper, rougher but definitely fun trail, covering 500 feet in half a mile. From the top we took pictures of the panoramic views and by the flag blowing in the wind. Heading down, it was steep and gravelly. We managed just one fall and one cholla in the group.

Reat
A bite to eat on the Pass Mountain trail..

The tops of the peak to the east offers a rest under the waving flag..

We then headed down and around on the trail until we joined up with the Pass Mountain Trail. At the top there we stopped to fuel up with snacks.

View
It also offers more views out to the east.
Pass
Pass Mountain.

The group all agreed to change the hike a bit, so instead of heading around on the Pass Mountain trail, we took the more interesting, scant trail full of switchbacks down through the brush and went into the wash. That wash is sandy, fun, and full of interesting rocks. We finished back at the trailhead, with time left for other afternoon adventures.
