On a warm morning in Flagstaff, we meet at Buffalo Park. This is on the Arizona Trail Segmwnt 33.
This segment is used by hikers looking for food, hotels and a way to get off the trail for a day or two.
One thing Segment 32 which goes around Flagstaff is now a no camping zone due to poeple not doing
the correct things. Buffalo Park is named after bison the railroade kept here, so poeple could see the wild west.
We head out across the flat meadow to the north edge, where is where the Pipeline trail branches off the AZT.
We take a little deture along the parks edge, but we get to the Pipeline trail anyways. It follows
the gas lines route north of Flagstaff. After a ways we branch off to the old Elden homestead. They had
a small spring that they used. One of their sons was killed defending the spring and they moved else where.
Their son is burried here and their name is on the mountain.

We take our snack/ lunch break by the spring. It is a nice shaded area. This is also our turn a round point
today. It is getting warm out here, even up in Flagstaff. This is a nice trail with shady spots and open spots.
We get back to Buffalo Park and its wide paths. The cars are only a short distance away. The trails in the
park are wide and easy to walk on. If you are just starting to hike they are a great way to start.
After the hike the group went to NiMarcos Pizza for lunch. They have more than pizza and all our meals were great.
