It was expected that it would be cool today, but mother nature decide to warm things up. We did the water front trail first, which was good because there is no shade on that trail. With it being morning the temperature was nice. The lake was mostly dry, but come spring time it will be full again. We then did the full Gold Diggers trail which then takes us back to our cars. The Gold Digger has shade, which later in the afternoon we needed. There is a nice lookout point about 1 mile into the hike. The lookout point has a nice bench to sit on. At the half way point there is a nice ramada with a picnic table with benches. There is no way to get to the ramada except by walking. The ramada is a little before the Rogers trail junction with Gold Digger. At this point we start the slow down hill back to the cars. This was a great hike up in the cool pines of Flagstaff.
