There were 12 hikers who made the early start for the 9 am meeting at the Schultz creek trailhead. The group of 12 hikers trekked 8.5 miles of the Arizona Trail from the Snow Bowl road crossing to the AZT Urban Bypass trail junction. At the junction the group followed the Urban bypass trail for 4 miles along the bank of Schultz creek back to the Schults Creek Trail Head. The weather was great with a slight breeze as we hiked along the ponderosa forest which provided plenty of shade. There was a slight change to the hike which was originally planned to hike 8 miles along passage 34 until we reached Sunset Trail head at Schultz tank where we were originally going to meet. The trip was changed to start/end the trip at the lower Schultz creek trail head since Schultz creek road was closed due to the fire restrictions.
