The weather was amazing for the 8 hikers who met on the north side of Mount Humphreys
to hike the popular Albineau Bear Jaw loop. The temperatures at the trailhead were
still in the upper 40s when the group started out on the Bear Jaw trail where they
hiked 2.7 miles up the trail until they joined the waterline trail.
The aspens on
each side of the trail at the upper elevations were just starting to change colors and provided a beautiful canopy of yellow
as the group followed the old roadbed another 2 leisurely miles until they reached
the junction for the Albineau trail. The views from the trail junction of
Mount Humphreys to the South and the plains of northern Arizona were amazing and
provided a great spot to enjoy the 60 degree temperatures on the clear sunny day.
After a nice break the group followed the Albineau trail which descended 1,893 feet
over the next 2.8 miles until the group returned back to the trailhead were the hike
started for a great 7.2 mile loop hike.

Up we go.
