Aravipa is a beautiful place. It has a stream running though it and large trees to put our tents under. It is also a dangerous place for flash floods.
The monday after we left the slot canyon in the following pictures had over 10 feet of water in it. Aravipa is a permit only wildness area and has an
east and west entrance. We came in the west entrance, which a car can get to. The east entrance you need high clearance on good days and 4 x 4 on bad days.
It was hot in Phoenix, but cool in Aravipa. It is fun resting under big trees and looking up the hill side with cacti.
