Eleven trailblazers stepped back in time and joined the Renaissance Festival crowd for a day filled with fun and imagination. Dressed in our Renaissance attire, we immersed ourselves in one of the most brilliant and enlightening periods in history—enjoying humorous stories, captivating shows, delightful music, and lively games.
To my surprise, this year festival was the busiest, I have seen in the past decade. I have never witnessed such enthusiasm from the crowd. People of all ages—young and old, men, women, and children—were dressed in Renaissance costumes, turning the entire fairground into a spectacular event on its own. I was thrilled that our group blended right in and became part of the celebration.

The fairground was quite large, and keeping everyone together proved to be a challenge. Even with good cell phone service, finding one another could be daunting at times. Still, the shows were clever and witty, some more appealing than others, and the audience was fully engaged in the performances. The lively interaction between performers and spectators made the experience truly memorable.

The food was another highlight—freshly baked goods, chocolate-covered strawberries, roasted turkey legs, and a variety of international cuisines. Not only were our hearts filled with joy, but our stomachs were well satisfied too! Beer, cocktails, and wine were also available, perfectly complementing the delicious food.

Some of us enjoyed the games like carefree children, fully relaxed in the festive atmosphere. The weather was equally cooperative, with blue skies and a few white clouds floating over Superstition Mountain, making the day even more enjoyable—especially for those who love the outdoors.

Jousting was the grand highlight of the day. Cheers and shouts from the crowd added to the excitement and festive spirit, making it an unforgettable experience. It was truly an amazing day to spend with friends and family. Adding to the celebration, February 14 marked Arizona 114th anniversary of statehood as well as Valentine Day, making the occasion even more special. It was no wonder every face around us glowed with smiles and contentment.

We all agreed that we would return next year—dressed even more elaborately—to celebrate this remarkable period in history once again. I hope even more people will join us for the adventure next year.
